Development of analytical techniques designed to better evaluate environmental risk

Développement de techniques analytiques visant à mieux évaluer les risques environnementauxOne important goal of our research is to develop advanced analytical techniques for environmental (and biological) analysis. For research involving trace metal bioavailability, this has involved the optimization of different analytical tools to quantify free ion or the free ion and its labile complexes (permeation liquid membrane, ion exchange resin technique, etc.). More recently, we have looked at coupled techniques for determining the size distributions of nanomaterials, mainly involving single particle ICP-MS. Bioavailability determinations have mainly been focused on genomic analyses of contaminant effects using the green alga, Chlamydomonas reinhardtii.
